1981 - 2016
6 June 2016 was Concorde's 35th anniversary. We celebrated it on 21 May.
Concorde is a social club set up in 1981 to enable single, divorced and widowed people aged 45+ to enjoy a social life with like-minded people. It meets informally every week and organizes a variety of events; parties, walks, theatres, meals, jazz, art and much more. It has about 70 members from Chichester, Bognor Regis and surrounding areas.
It is not a dating club, but some members have married each other or formed relationships within the club and remained members. This has enabled members to maintain friendships with others within the framework of Concorde's caring nature and comprehensive activities. It is also good to have this solid and stable core. It has proved to be a workable formula for many years.
You are most welcome to drop in any Tuesday evening from 8 p.m. at The Walnut Tree, Vinnetrow Road, Runcton, Chichester PO20 1QB where we meet in a private room for our weekly social evening.
The meal on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, the quiz on the first Tuesday and the lunch on the first Sunday, all also at The Walnut Tree, provide good opportunities for new members to get to know other members.
Concorde is a members' club. Members suggest what events to hold and all are invited to attend a planning meeting to decide on the following quarter's programme.
The programme is posted on this site and a copy is sent to each member, with a list of current members and their telephone numbers. No addresses are given out.
There is a joining fee of £1 and six-monthly subscriptions of £10, but prospective members are very welcome to come a couple of times to see whether they like the club before they pay.
We enjoy many varied activities and events, as you can see in the Programme..
